What is Math by Edison?

Hello Edison here.

I am a 1-on-1 math tutor. Not a title that gets anyone excited, but what I’ve done differently with the thousands of math students I’ve worked with, is that I’ve taught them learning strategies. And that gives them an edge.

Math by Edison is me, sharing the math learning strategies that I’ve used with math students for the last three decades. My goal? To have them become better in math!

Strategies I write about

come from ‘outside-the-box’, and I call it that as most are not taught in schools, and I zoom in on specifics, no vague directions here (work harder or study more).
Examples:

  1. Math isn’t what makes math hard - it’s that other 75% non-math …”,

  2. This is what you do if you’re not understanding your teacher

  3. What to do three days before your test?

Articles are written in four sections:

1️⃣ QUICK STEPS are quick learning strategies … can be implemented right away
2️⃣ EDISON’S MATH SCHOOL - ... math made easier Edison teaches the math!
3️⃣ STRATEGY SESSIONS - Live sessions that focus on must have learning skills.
4️⃣ COACH EDISON -
Insightful strategies for math (and life) 🚦❕

My expertise?

Working with 11- to 17-year-olds, Grade 6 to 12 math students, here in Ontario, Canada. And you’d think the mix of math and teenagers would be a challenge … it is at times, but it’s a good challenge, a wonderful challenge. And yeah, I love what I do.

I get to work with teenagers and math – the best job in the world 😁😂!
